While the New Year's Eve celebration is long over, you can expect some spectacular fireworks from Offshoring Inc. This 2010, Offshoring is focused on actualizing projects and activities that have been conceptualized during last year's strategic planning. These activities are aimed at maintaining Offshoring's position as the number one trailblazer in staff-leasing services and BPO solutions.
Sales Creativity: Prepare to be Dazzled
Offshoring's Sales Department aims to dazzle participants at trade shows this year as they are planning new strategies to promote Offshoring's world-class services. RJ Hernandez, Sales Manager, will go to trade shows armed with fresh marketing materials and ideas. These are still under wraps for now, but surprises are definitely in store for participants who will visit Offshoring Inc.'s cool booth!
Sales will also showcase the outstanding art of Offshoring this year as they're planning to overhaul the company's website. More graphics will be displayed, including the corporate AVP, which made its debut during the company's Christmas party. Prospects and clients will also be able to view an online staff portfolio that would feature personal works of Offshoring's highly skilled Graphic Designers, Web Designers, and other staff.
Social networking websites have also not escaped the observant eye of Offshoring's management. Everyone can soon connect to Offshoring via Facebook, Twitter and other popular websites. Offshoring is currently developing its DeviantArt account at http://offshoring-inc.deviantart.com/ to have a venue for all its creative products.

Hardware, Software Upgrades and More
For Offshoring, providing their employees with the standard tools and equipment to accomplish their tasks is not enough. The BPO industry is a fierce battlefield and soldiers are only as good as the weapons they wield. In line with this, the IT Deparment is in the process of replacing the company's hardware and software with the latest tools of the trade. Almost all of Offshoring's computer monitors now are LCD and other hardware and software units will soon be replaced with new ones.
MyWeb, Offshoring's ERP system, is also undergoing enhancements on its appearance and functionalities. MyWeb version 2 features better system of navigation and improved graphics. Soon, it will be used to manage all the reports, applications, and other needs of both clients and employees.
Over at the Employee Care Department, Ms. Ajel Olaguer, Employee Care Officer, will try to up the tempo this year. More policies will be set in place to encourage employees' professionalism and maintain the competitiveness of the company. Among the plans are the formation of special interest groups that should cater to the creative spirit and hobbies of employees. Soft skills training in different fields, such effective business communication will also be held this year. In addition, Offshoring Inc. is looking to join different organizations to better connect with the BPO industry and other companies.

*Employee and Admin Staff of the Year Awardees Talk About Offshoring Inc.*
At Offshoring Inc., every admirable deed is justly rewarded. Different types of incentives encourage all employees to do their best every day. Last December 2009 at Offshoring's Christmas party, Jeff Laceras, Employee of the Year, and Shella May Lagatic, Admin Staff of the Year, received some cool prizes, including sleek Sony VAIO laptops. We talked to them regarding their experiences in the company and what drives them to give stellar performances day in, day out.
Hardwork is Key to Success
Prior to being recognized as the 2009 Employee of the Year, Jeff Laceras had maintained his perfect attendance for 10 months in a row, which means he almost reported for work every day throughout the entire year. Jeff is a Junior Media Manager and he has been with Offshoring for 4 years.
The secret to Jeff's success is his work ethic. “To me, if I'm going to work, then I might as well go to work early to avoid any hassle. I just strive hard to maintain my perfect attendance because that's ultimately for myself. The incentive is a big help financially. I enjoy going to work early and it has become a habit.” Offshoring Inc. promotes a rigorous work ethic that enables all employees to compete with the best of the best in the world. Apparently, Jeff has imbibed this work ethic and it has carried him to the top.
Meeting Expectations: A Daily Challenge
Many of Offshoring's employees know Shella May Lagatic well because she is the company's Senior Talent Acquisition Officer. She works the morning shift, and before she got the first ever Admin Staff of the Year Award, she maintained her perfect attendance for 5 straight months.
Shella admitted that being an admin staff is difficult but it is also rewarding whenever the company recognizes her hard work. “It's difficult because you have to handle your staff well. You have to set an example to your staff. It's not easy to handle all the applicants that you process every day. And also, you have to deliver what the client expects from you and from the company.” Shella's commendable professional traits are proof that Offshoring offers high-quality management to its clients.
Setting an Example to their Colleagues
Jeff and Shella both realize that being the Employee and Admin Staff of the Year doesn't only bring with it honor and a lot of prizes, it also comes with the responsibility of being the role models to their colleagues.
“I will try to be better next year and the succeeding years thereafter. I just want to make sure that the trust and the support given to me by my fellow employees will not go to waste,” Shella said. Meanwhile, Jeff aims to apply his winning formula again this year. “I'll just continue my work. I always tell my friends that it's ok if you have too much work to do because that's better than having none. Staying home jobless is harder. I'll strive every day to maintain my excellent performance.”

In just 5 years of existence, Offshoring Inc. has already satisfied hundreds of clients around the globe because of its innovative and effective staff-leasing services. Key to Offshoring's great service is its investment in its highly skilled and competitive Filipino workforce.
Last December 2009 during Offshoring's Christmas party, four hardworking and loyal employees were recognized for their 5 years of service to the trailblazing company: Adelina “Len” Rada, Senior Manager for Operations, Giselle Cabansay, Research Analyst, and Girard Glen Subong and Angel Angel, team leaders. Offshoring honored and rewarded them with cash and dazzling TIMEX watches with inscribed company logos.
What Made Them Stay
“All of us have many job offers as well as opportunities outside,” said Len. “What made me stay here in Offshoring is that fact that they give you the opportunity to explore yourself, to discover your potential, what field you belong to. They give you the freedom to shine.” Len ascended from being an HTML Developer to being the Nightshift Supervisor, and now she's the Senior Manager for Offshoring's Operations.
One of the reasons for clients' high approval of Offshoring is the open-line communication between the management and clients. For this reason, several clients choose to work longer with Offshoring. Angel credits his smooth and stable working relationship with his client as his main reason for staying. “I like my client. I've been working for him for about 4 years. From the moment he worked with Offshoring, I've been in his team, so my job is very stable. Also, the team is excellent and the people are great.”
Giselle got into Offshoring Inc., then known as iWebmasters, when her previous company merged with Offshoring Inc. “Offshoring shows us that they care about us. I am also happy with friends I met here,” she said. The quality of her clients also factors into Giselle's decision to stay with the company. “I am satisfied with my clients because they know how to appreciate employees.”
Offshoring promotes a cozy, laid-back but competitive work environment that encourages everyone to express their individuality in the workplace. Glen cites this comfortable culture in the company's headquarters as his primary reason for staying. “You don't feel pressured with your work because you're doing what you like without any hassle.” Glen has stayed with the same client in the 5 years that he has worked in Offshoring Inc.

The awardees have witnessed a plethora of changes in Offshoring since its foundation in 2004. Various enhancements on company policies and benefits have made the awardees choose Offshoring over any other company in the Philippines.
“If you compare Offshoring with my previous company, we only had few benefits back there. Here, we have Medicard and the cash incentive for perfect attendance each month. The facilities are also much bettter. We have a swimming pool and our own pantry, so you don't need to go outside to buy food. There are really lots of advantages here for us,” said Giselle.
Angel noted the dedication of Offshoring to provide its employees with the latest tools of the trade. “The equipment is very up-to-date from the day I started working here until today.” Len mentioned other improvements she's seen throughout her career in the company. “We have new policies in place and our headquarters has really improved. One improvement that I really like is that employees are receiving a lot of benefits.” Finally, Glen expressed his amazement at how fast the company has grown in just five years. “We used to work in just a single small room. As we got transferred to different headquarters, the number of people continued to increase – and now we're here.”

* Offshoring Inc. Lights Up Lives *
Offshoring Inc. launched the Light Up a Tree, Light Up a Life outreach program last December 2009 to help the poor, sick children of Give a Life Charity Foundation. The program was a huge success as Offshoring completely reached its target amount of donations for the beneficiary. Dr. Philip A. Cruz of “Give a Life” graced Offshoring's 2009 Christmas party at Bramante Piazza Ballroom, Renaissance Center to thank all employees for their kind participation to the program.
Sold Out Christmas Balls
Mr. Paul Christian C. Ruiz, Senior Manager for Talent Acquisition and Employee Care, gladly reported that ornaments were sold out. The amount of donations given to Give a Life totalled Php 32,000, which would go a long way toward providing the poverty and disease stricken children of “Give a Life” medicines and medical equipment for their survival and, hopefully, cure.
Helping through “Light Up a Tree” program was very simple. All employees had to do was buy some ornaments for the Christmas tree that stood in the 5th floor hallway in front of the pantry. Ornaments were differently priced, with the cheapest sold at Php 50 and the most expensive at Php 1,500. All the money collected in this manner went to Give a Life Charity Foundation. Whoever bought the ornaments then had the option of putting their names on them before the ornaments were hanged on the Christmas tree.
Making a Positive Difference Ever Year
“Light Up a Tree, Light Up a Life was conceived to give employees a venue to give during the season of giving,” explained Mr. Angelito A. Cruz, Chief Operating Officer of Offshoring Inc. Since 2007, Offshoring Inc. has been running the program every December to send much-needed financial aid to different beneficiaries. Last December, Give a Life Charity Foundation was chosen because of its noble goal of providing medical support to the poor children of Manila.
In his appeal to all people entitled “When Doctors Cry” on Give a Life's website, Dr. Philip Cruz emphasized how everyone can create a miracle everyday just by sending aid through their foundation. “Each day, each week, each month, many children die in our wards. This is not because our doctors are unskilled or incompetent. You know, most of the time the children are not too terribly sick. Mostly, these children die because they are poor,” Dr. Cruz said. “We need your help to overcome the struggle to get basic supplies. We need your help to put into place the most fundamental (pieces) of equipment. We need your help to save lives.”
At Offshoring's Christmas party, Dr. Cruz noted how talented and creative Offshoring's employees are. Realizing how much the company could help, he requested for assistance in improving their foundation's website. Mr. Angelito A. Cruz gladly accepted the request as this was another opportunity to put the amazing Filipino talent into good use.
Offshoring Inc. answered Give a Life's call, and it is ready to answer more calls for hope this year, as the company continues to find ways to help the community in as many ways as possible.
