*Offshoring Inc. Fights A(H1N1) with Preventive Strategies *

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 76 countries around the world today already have cases of infection by the A(H1N1) virus, commonly known as “swine flu.” The Philippines is among the countries currently battling this disease which was considered by the country's Department of Health as “mild.” Offshoring Inc., the most innovative staff-leasing service provider in the industry however, is doing everything possible to prevent the virus from spreading within the company premises.

Forced Leave Policy: Taking No Chances with Swine Flu

Offshoring Inc. prides itself with the highly skilled and talented employees it has. For this reason, the company makes absolutely sure that nothing endangers their health, especially when they are on the operations floor. Consequent to this, Offshoring recently developed and implemented a Forced Leave Policy for employees who went out of the country to reduce the risk of spreading A(H1N1) within the company premises.

Basic preventive measures are important in protecting employees from A(H1N1). Like quarantine and checkup procedures done at airports around the globe, Offshoring chose to be “safe than sorry” when it comes to employees' health. Offshoring recognizes that going to other countries with reported swine flu cases puts an employee at a higher risk of contracting the virus. The Forced Leave Policy was implemented on this rationale to ensure the health of everyone in the company headquarters.

According to the Forced Leave Policy, an employee who went out of the country may not be aware that he's already infected since symptoms develop three to five days after exposure. Self-quarantine decreases the likelihood that others will be infected by the virus in case the employee tries to come to work. HR will then discuss with the employee's Immediate Superior to determine whether the mandatory forced leave is applicable in such a case. If a need for self-quarantine is determined, the employee must take a five-day leave to determine his health condition.

Proper Sanitation: First Line of Defense Against Swine Flu

Touching contaminated surfaces then touching the mouth, eyes, or nose may cause infection by the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States advises frequent hand washing and using hand sanitizers to reduce the risk of infection. Offshoring Inc. keeps up to date with the latest swine flu prevention strategies such as this and implements them at the company premises.

Several hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed in the operations floor and in the administration office, so employees can disinfect their hands anytime. Bottles of rubbing alcohol have also been placed at entrances to offices and inside bathrooms to make sure everyone has easy access to antiseptics. Numerous posters displaying the proper way of hand washing and use of soap dispensers were also put up on walls. In addition, leaflets containing the most essential information about A(H1N1) were also distributed to employees so they can protect themselves better against the disease.

These efforts are part of Offshoring's plan to ensure smooth and stable operations despite the pandemic. Last month, the company also administered flu and pneumonia vaccinations to employees as part of its commitment to maintain their health. With these policies and preventive measures in place, Offshoring Inc. clearly sends out the message that it is prepared to take on the challenge of A(H1N1) and emerge victorious against it.

Offshoring's Talent Pool: Browse, Hire, Get Results

Mr. Paul Ruiz, Recruitment Manager for Offshoring Inc. explains why the talent pool in the company's website is special. “When we post staff on our website, this means that they are thoroughly screened already. Potential clients don't have to worry about their attitude or their performance. If their profiles are posted there, that means they're all excellent and we highly recommend them. We don't post an employee's profile if he is performing below Offshoring Inc.'s expectations.”

The easily accessible talent pool on Offshoring's website provides potential clients with a lot of advantages. One click on the thumbnail of an employee and the profile of that employee appears on the screen. This way, potential clients can quickly read the sample profiles of employees and decide if they match their requirements.

According to Paul, Offshoring's inventory is unique because anyone can see it anytime they want. The company is so proud of its talents that there is literally nothing to hide. “Potential clients can already see the profiles of our available staff even if they haven't paid a setup fee or anything else. With other companies, they would have to pay first before they can browse through the profiles of their staff. Here at Offshoring, our talent pool is open for anyone to see.”

Tried and Tested Employees

Offshoring employees whose profiles are posted on the website currently don't have clients in the company. This doesn't mean however, that there's something wrong with them. In fact, it's the complete opposite. Paul explains that the staff on Offshoring's talent pool are all there because of contract decisions and not performance-related reasons. This means that all the talents Offshoring offers are previously working perfectly for their clients. Furthermore, all these employees have gone through and passed Offshoring's qualification tests. They have also gathered lots of experience doing and finishing actual projects for clients.

“If an employee is doing well under such circumstances, we put them in our talent pool. Employees in the talent pool are good to go. We're telling potential clients, 'Here are our people. You can get them free of any setup fee and they're all OK,'” Paul said.

So if you're looking for highly qualified professionals to drive your business forward, start now with Offshoring Inc. and see for yourself why many businesses have already become successful through the help of this industry leader in staff-leasing services.

*Promoting Teamwork:June Birthday Circle Night-Out Party *

June birthday celebrators partied the night away last June 27, 2009 at Sidebar restaurant and bar, a short 5 to 7-minute walk from Offshoring Inc.'s headquarters at Tycoon Center Condominium, Pasig City. The event is part of the recently launched program called Birthday Night Out for each month's birthday celebrants.

Several June birthday celebrators attended the party, along with Mr. Angelito C. Cruz, Chief Operating Officer of Offshoring Inc., Mr. Paul Christian C. Ruiz, Recruitment Manager and concurrent HR Manager, and Mr. Victor L. Guerrero, HR Specialist and official photographer for the event. The group had fun eating and drinking while getting to know each other better. Offshoring Inc. reserved two tables for the attendees where Sidebar's delicious food and excellent beverages were served.

Building Camaraderie Among Employees

Teamwork is essential to efficient and effective production. It is important for employees of a company to establish close rapport with one another in order for them to produce better results. Offshoring Inc. holds several gatherings throughout the year to celebrate occasions and promote camaraderie among its talented employees. Offshoring Inc.'s Birthday Night Out event is also held for these reasons.

According to Ms. Angelita C. Lacanlale, Executive Assistant, one purpose of the event is for birthday celebrators who come from different shifts and accounts to get to know each other. It's also a venue to get to know the administration staff of Offshoring. “Another goal of the event is for employees to get to know our COO, Mr. Angelito C. Cruz.,” she said.

Ms. Lacanlale explained that the Birthday Night Out program was conceived as a replacement for the birthday breakfast meals that Offshoring Inc. used to host. “We started it this June. As you remember, we used to have breakfast parties here every last Friday of the month. We changed it so that more employees from different shifts could attend the party.”

Mr. Victor L. Guerrero, official photographer of the event, also has the same view. “With the breakfast parties before, employees couldn't really bond that well because they have to go to work at 7:00AM. By holding the party outside of working hours, particularly on a Saturday , the employees have more time to talk to each other. Our COO can also talk to them about what's happening in our office and update them on different events,” he said.

Birthday Blast for Celebrators

Although they didn't really know each other, the birthday celebrators still had a blast during the party. Chique M. Ramos of Content Creations said that there were little awkward moments among the birthday celebrants but she still had fun. She was also grateful to Mr. Angelito C. Cruz and Mr. Paul Christian C. Ruiz for breaking the ice. “They were the ones who really kept the conversations going. It would have been quiet without them because we've only seen each other for the first time,” she said.

For Glenn A. Manalastas of the Cataweb Online SL account, the celebration was more than just a party. “It was more like a bonding session with Sir Obet (Mr. Angelito C. Cruz, COO) and Sir Paul (Mr. Paul C. Ruiz) along with the other June celebrators. We had drinks, food and a lot of good conversation amongst ourselves the entire evening.” Asked if he would attend Birthday Night Out next year, Glenn's answer was a resolute, “Definitely.”

JP B. David of Sordid Ones also enjoyed the party. He said that while he didn't exactly ended up being “friends” with the other birthday celebrants, he sure got to know a lot of new and interesting people. “This kind of event is important because it somehow brings employees closer,” he said. Bernalin Santos of Plymouth was more successful with making new friends during the party. She said that the other birthday celebrators were really “nice and cool.” “They are really fun to be with. I made new friends and they're now on my facebook, as well.”

All the birthday celebrants received tokens from the management. However, the employees did not only go home with gifts. They also went home with new acquaintances and a stronger sense of belonging in their second home at Offshoring Inc.

* Offshoring Inc. Strengthens its Administrative Staff *

The rapid and stable growth of Offshoring Inc., the leading staff leasing company in the Philippines, cannot be stopped. To address the increasing demands of an expanding business, Offshoring recently reinforced its already reliable administrative staff with two new important positions: HR Head and Facilities Management Specialist. Newly hired employees , Ms. Ajel C. Olaguer and Mr. Rudy F. Tabucol took up the respective positions. We talked to the two new members of the hardworking team of Offshoring Inc. about their views on their responsibilities.

The Charismatic Approach to Human Resources

Offshoring's employees were awestruck with Ms. Ajel C. Olaguer as she hit the high notes of Rihanna's “Take a Bow” and Beyonce's “Halo” onstage during the Jammin' Mondays mini-concert last June 22. It was the first time they saw Ms. Ajel, the bubbly new HR Head of Offshoring Inc. Aside from her amazing talent in singing, Ajel is also an excellent HR Specialist.

Ajel's responsibility as HR Head is to maintain the quality of work of her subordinates, so they'll accomplish their goals in a timely manner. She also supervises them in everything they do, up to the smallest details. She said that she enjoys her job even if she feels that people have high expectations of her. She treats everything as a challenge to improve the human resources management of the company.

“What's important to me is that we plan ahead of time,” Ajel said. “Every week, we have HR meetings to update ourselves with what's going on in the company. If there's a problem, we solve it together by asking each other's opinions. I always make sure that there is a backup plan. Just in case plan A won't work, at least we have plan B.”

To Ajel, being an HR Specialist means you are the shock absorber of the company. An HR Specialist is also the gatekeeper between the employees and the management. Her primary goal is to serve the needs of the employees for smooth and stable operations. Perhaps the big difference between Ajel and other HR S pecialists is the way she deals with employees. She is always smiling and full of life and says she hates bosses who shout at their employees to shame them. “I am the charismatic HR Head,” Ajel said laughing. With her on the wheels of Offshoring's HR department, the company's future is surely bright and sunny.

Improving the Efficiency of Facilities and Equipment

Offshoring Inc. employs several helpers who maintain the facilities and equipment of the company, as well as guards who provide round-the-clock security to employees. Mr. Rudy F. Tabucol, the new Facilities Management Specialist of the company, says that he'll be able to further improve the services of these people by sharing his technical skills with them.

Rudy is no stranger to the importance of regular maintenance of facilities to business. He worked for almost 10 years in one of the largest holding companies in the Philippines. His last position was OIC of the engineering department. He says his extensive background in facilities management will be of great use to Offshoring Inc.

For Rudy, the name of the game is efficiency. “We have a lot of facilities and we need to improve them. We need to get at their proper efficiencies to improve their overall quality. In addition, Offshoring Inc. has a lot of projects. By taking over everything that is related to management of facilities, more work will be accomplished through division of labor,” Rudy said.

Offshoring Inc. continues to grow every day. The secret to its excellent service of its clients is its talented and hardworking employees and its intelligent and dependable administration staff. Through Offshoring's dedication to constantly upgrade its administration and operations, its future is surely secure as the leading staff-leasing services provider in the country.

* Jammin' Mondays: Rockin' to Start the Week Right *

One of the secrets behind Offshoring Inc.'s success in its growing staff-leasing business is its hardworking and talented employees. The talent of Offshoring's employees, composed of Web Designers, Web Masters, SEO Specialists, Writers, and others, is not only restricted to their given jobs, but also manifests in their creative endeavors outside the office. Last June 22, that amazing talent was showcased once again as employees took center stage to perform some of the most recent pop hits in the relaunch of Offshoring's Jammin' Mondays.

Mondays Pumped Up With Music

Jammin' Mondays is held every Monday at the 5th floor pantry of the Tycoon Center Condominium, Offshoring Inc's headquarters. A stage is set up at the front of the pantry so employees can watch their colleagues perform while eating delicious food. Amplifiers are also set up to create a real concert experience for the employees.

Employees can perform any type of song they want, whether pop, rock, or R&B. Offshoring encourages all employees to try and show their talents on stage. In exchange, each performer will get gift checks and a chance to shine for one whole hour.

Paul Ruiz, Recruitment Manager of Offshoring Inc., explains that the main goal of Jammin' Mondays is to exhibit the talent of employees. The event was launched last year, and after a brief hiatus, returned with new energy. Another goal of the event is to bring the employees together and refresh their minds from work. Monday is the most important day of the week since if employees start their week right, they should be able to follow through the whole week. For this reason, holding a mini-concert every Monday is the perfect way to get the employees revved up for the busy week ahead at Offshoring's office.

Jammin' Mondays Relaunched

Everyone was excited with the relaunch of Jammin' Mondays. Employees flocked to the pantry to see who among the familiar faces in the office will be the starss for the day. The highlight of the show was the extremely talented Ms. Ajel Olaguer, the new HR Head of Offshoring Inc. Ajel recently took up her new position which involved supervising the company's HR specialists and maintaining the excellent quality of HR services.

Ajel is not only good at managing Offshoring's human resources, but also belting out pop hits such as Beyonce's “Halo” and Rihanna's “Take a Bow.” “I was nervous, but I enjoyed it,” she said. Offshoring encouraged Ajel to perform onstage to introduce her to the employees. She said she was thrilled to display her gift in singing to her colleagues.

As for the audience, they had a lot of fun watching their fellow employees perform their favorite songs. Some, like Jerico Gamotin of the Behrendt Professional account liked the show very much but said it could still improve. “I think it can be better if there was a variety of musical instruments, as well as more varied songs,” he said.

As Offshoring continues to find ways to improve Jammin' Mondays, Jerico's wish will surely come true in the future. Aside from Jammin' Mondays, the company is exploring more ways to promote the creativity, talent, and skills of its employees.

* WeeWillDoodle and Offshoring Inc. Promote Artistic Freedom *

High levels of productivity are only possible when employees are equipped with the best tools and facilities for their job. Offshoring Inc., the leading offshore staff leasing company based in the Philippines, knows this by heart. At their headquarters in Tycoon Condominium in Pasig City, employees enjoy a growing number of facilities, including a swimming pool and a spacious multi-purpose hall that will soon be turned into a gym.

Aside from these facilities, one very familiar element in the Offshoring's operations floor is the Freedom Wall. The wall serves as a productive outlet for employees to express whatever they want at any given time. Last June 6, 2009, a group of graphic artists commonly known as WeeWillDoodle arrived at the company's headquarters to show employees how they can express themselves artistically through doodles.

WeeWillDoodle Creates Art Out of Doodles

WeeWillDoodle is a group of Filipino artists who uses doodles to create works of art on walls, canvasses, toys, skin, and other types of media. The WeeWillDoodle group, led by Nelz Yumul, teamed up with Offshoring Inc. to create the newest design for the Freedom Wall. One member of the group, Francisco “Kiko” C. Castenda Jr. is also an employee of Offshoring Inc., which proves that the company is home to some of the most talented artists in the country. Doodling the wall took about two hours. Each member of the group used black markers to draw random but beautiful and intricate drawings on the Freedom Wall.

Nelz explained that the idea for WeeWillDoodle started when he doodled on a blank space on their office's wall. His friends put in more doodles, connected them to his original doodle, and the result was something special. The team used to do a lot of pro bono work, but now they're fully booked and was even featured on a local TV show.

The Significance of a Freedom Wall

Offshoring Inc., recognizing the brilliance of WeeWillDoodle's free artistic style, partnered with the artists to decorate the Freedom Wall. Aside from the aesthetic value of the decoration, Offshoring Inc. also aims to spur the creativity of its employees by showing them the spontaneous artwork of WeeWillDoodle.

Employees scribble whatever pops into their head on the Freedom Wall on the operations floor. The wall is usually filled with wacky messages to friends and short conversations. Some of the more artistically gifted employees of the company also draw cartoon characters on the wall. The wall would usually have a main theme for an occasion, Christmas, for instance, or Valentine's Day. Absolute freedom is expressed on the accommodating white wall each day. Offshoring Inc. makes sure that the wall is painted white regularly to offer a new blank page for employees to write their thoughts on.

Nelz of WeeWillDoodle also shared his thoughts on the significance of the Freedom Wall. “It is indeed important that you guys at Offshoring have this Freedom Wall. At least, you know that everybody enjoys the freedom of expression. You can learn a lot from a freedom wall, especially if anyone has complaints or concerns about anything.”

Offshoring Inc. continues to look for ways to promote the wellbeing of its employees. Aside from the Freedom Wall, employees will surely have more facilities available to them in the future.
